Ed portrayed the beauty of microwaves from the Big Bang. Researching how the Universe formed, Belbruno worked with colleagues in the Astrophysics Department of Princeton University and the School of Mathematics of Institute of Advanced Studies on studying microwaves emmitted from the birth of the Universe. This series was partially completed in a barn in Bucks County, PA. In 2009, as a much talked about event at the Metropolitan Opera House, Ed had a special unveiling of his painting, Oppenheimer Channeled as Microwave Energy of the Universe, for the opera Dr. Atomic. The piece honored the work of Robert Oppenheimer and was inspired by the Big Bang. Select originals are available at Agora Gallery, New York, New York.
