2020-2021

In early February 2020, Ed was suddenly inspired to do a haunting series of paintings offering an apocalyptic vision of the future. Many paintings were completed by June.  A series of study paintings and sketches were completed first, and then the large paintings, the first of which is called The Meadow, displayed here. A number of other large paintings followed The Meadow, two of which are displayed here as well.

The series culminated in a large piece, 5 feet by 10 feet, consisting of six canvases, entitled A New World. This is displayed here. Work on this started in October 2020 and was completed in August 2021. It shows a sweeping desolate landscape, representative of a possible future for our world. It was first displayed in an exhibition in Princeton on October 31, 2021
